UK-based SME seeks distributors and resellers for its digital physical activity service

Opportunity Reference #: BOUK20161011005

Summary

A UK-based SME has developed a digital physical activity service. The system combines an inexpensive wearable activity tracker device with Web and mobile apps that support directed activity and wellness programmes with proven results. The SME is looking to enter new markets and is looking to partner with resellers and distributors as well as other SMEs for further development. The partnerships are envisaged as distribution services agreements and joint venture agreements.

Description

Demographic changes within the general population include an increase in the numbers of elderly and people classified as overweight or obese. These are trends that are set to continue and so too will the increase in long term health issues associated with these groups, such as dementia, heart disease and diabetes. The self-management of such long term health conditions will become increasingly important. Activity and exercise is an important aspect of this management but it can be difficult to engage patients fully in activity programmes.

A UK-based SME has developed an innovative digital physical activity service for practitioners working with
groups or individuals. The system combines an inexpensive wearable activity tracker device with Web and mobile apps that support directed activity and wellness programmes, as well as promoting increased fitness through self-management, and social inclusion for service users and their carers. It is designed to increase healthy lifespan and reduce the onset of medical and
emotional conditions, especially those likely to require hospital admission. This service has been proven to be an effective way to transform and evaluate the behaviour of many diverse population groups, from adolescents through the very elderly.

The UK-based SME is looking to deploy this technology in new markets. The SME is therefore looking to work with health specialist resellers and distributors, especially those with experience of working with healthcare technology and service providers. The SME would like to work with resellers and distributors in order to provide their digital service to new markets. It is envisaged that the partnership will take the form of a distribution agreement.

The UK-based SME is also looking to with other SMEs operating in the healthcare sector that have complementary products that the UK-based SME's innovative digital physical activity service can be further developed to support. It is envisaged that this partnership would take the form of a joint venture agreement.
